Niabi Zoo, located in Coal Valley, Illinois, has been a Quad Cities Area attraction since 1959. Originally a private animal farm, it was gifted to the community in 1963 and is now operated by the Rock Island County Forest Preserve District.
The zoo, which spans 40 acres within a larger forest preserve, is home to over 600 animals representing nearly 200 species. Niabi, meaning "the fawn spared by the hunter" in Osage, has evolved into a conservation and education center.
Niabi Zoo partners with various programs to preserve rare species and educate visitors, ensuring these incredible creatures remain part of our natural world for generations to come.
The zoo is constantly improving animal care and sustainability practices, so Dominion Hemp animal bedding was a natural fit!
